Few points are postulated below to look consistently and observe without making any judgement:
1.Observe Them with a smile:
Notice them while eating, sleeping and playing.
Look for their common habitual action or attributes they show.
What is their favourite activity? Are they resilient to changes? How comfortable they are in a new situation or a place or with a person?
Observing your child during their actions, you may become little closer to them but remember"no judgments".
Let them be.
2. Walk the Talk with your kid :
This is crucial to gain information and understanding from the child.
Since ,they do not understand their feelings and emotions during quite a big number of years, ot becomes important ,infact, mandatory for a parent to feel what they feel and communicate
Infants and toddlers are no less than in communication, though they require less verbal language and more facial expression and body language.
Walk the talk with the kids, they are very good imitators, they will follow you so be careful of what you say and how you act, that's why it is said that parenting is not a cake walk, you need to unlearn many things to parent a healthy mind.
3.Avoid using Negation words:
With kids, it's important to reframe or we can say paraphrase the thoughts , words in a more positive language ,it builds a very deep impact in their subconscious mind.
4. Building Self-esteem :
Firstly, we need to understand , self -esteem is not a concept but it's the requirement for a healthy mind.
Psychological health is as important as physical health. Every child is special and parents needs to accept the potential , the attributes the child possess ,also should try to refine the same with effective approach of experiential learning.
5.Developing Social skills:
Parents should encourage time to spend with their little minds , playing with their kids on a regular basis and also fostering kids to understand themselves .
If you are a single parent or have an only child, occasionally invite family or friends over to play.
Some children do not develop social skills as easily as others which is okay, they have their zone of understanding , avoid forcing them to greet someone or hug someone.
A child needs time, not money. Become a child first, to parent. Lets build a strong world by fostering love and joy.
There are few games and activities which can help you as a parent to inculcate social emotional understanding in a kid.
